@JacobSeelman77 Well, Road America had a World Cup lead-in on Fox and the rating was up 131% over the previous year. And 294% better in the 18-34 demo. Fox showed at least one live shot from the grid on Sunday promoting the race. Look, Indycar and Fox took a big swing and it didn’t work out.

It's embarrassing how bad FOX has bungled this for IndyCar tonight. Realistically, how many soccer fans did you honestly think would hang on and watch your race? If we're being truthful, it wasn't going to be many that stayed longer than five minutes, if any. Then to have no updates whatsoever on what the status is, even via a scrolling ticker or... I don't know, SOCIAL MEDIA, through extra time and post-match... you’re supposed to care about promoting the series as an equity owner and FOX has done NOTHING today. I love the discipline of Indy car racing. I love my friends at IndyCar. But I feel awful for them because they've been totally screwed by a plan to play for a non-sustainable audience that had to work exactly perfectly even WITHOUT the rain, and that was never going to happen. The way you build a lasting audience and fanbase is by first improving what makes your sport worth watching and entertaining and THEN marketing it well and efficiently. THAT will improve the sport. A flash in the pan like a once-in-four-years World Cup lead in was never it. /endrant #IndyCar

@wbuxtonofficial IndyCar took a big swing to help the sport grow with the biggest lead-in audience in its history. And uncontrollable weather got in the way. Tough break, but move on and have a great call on Monday.

Our role isn’t just to show the sport but to grow it. The World Cup final is the most watched sports event on earth. Leading in from it was an opportunity to reach a huge new audience. A regular time win would still have arrived with us in a lightning delay. Can’t control weather
