after these years I still can’t help but lament how butchered kazuha’s eng vo is, reducing him to leaves and wind and the world of physical sensations while almost every line that he utters in cn vo carries double and triple layers of meaning cultural codes and poetic references

this level of butchering rivals what eng vo did to ei (in cn and jp she literally speaks in verses), zhongli (don’t get me started, one can write a phd on how MANY meanings his words carry because hoyo adores chinese culture) and wanda (I’ll never forgive en vo for sasukemouche)

@freedyfreeds the entire fall of the raiden gokaden didn’t merely happen because scara murdered the head artisans, it all came down after tampering the entire diagrams and machinations that it lost its prestige, that’s scara for you

i’m not expecting anything for 6.6 but i won’t be surprised if scara uses talk no jiutsu with both his and dottore’s ideologies instead of the “fight” everyone has been expecting

scara plots and schemes things, he makes sure other factors are nullified/utilized enough to take effect on the plans he make, he’s decisive and rational if you’re assuming that he’ll just jump on dottore immediately

@edentuary and that is actually something that makes me wonder bcos wanwan is no fool to try and beat dottore in a direct fight. besides, there’s a lot of history and resentment between them so I don’t think wan would resist engaging and trying to understand the reasonings first

@edentuary to think of it, have we ever seen him jumping into a fight instead of dragging out a long bond villain monologue? the only time he did he was so absolutely sure of his superiority in terms of sheer power (and even then he managed to talk and somewhat reason with trvl and nahida)

the problem here is that kaz is also a super unreliable narrator. he doesn’t lie, but he omits many things that can be read between the lines, but he will never name it all directly. I love writing him here
