This is a worthwhile and interesting comparison I think. One (arguably relevant) difference is that Hayne's role (as royal commissioner, as well as his previous role) is meant to be completely independent of the executive. Not so clear in the case of Aussie of the Year.

"Can we get a handshake or something?" "Nope." Kenneth Hayne refusing to smile for a photo op with the Treasurer. I don't remember editorials calling Commissioner Hayne "ungracious, rude and childish". "Brutal", "cold" and "refusing to cooperate", yes. Spot the difference.

"Hit the ground running" Today there were 1,295 jobs advertised on Seek with this implied guarantee of no training or orientation for new employees. Recruiters and employers should be asking themselves if this is the best they can do in their job postings.
