@NHLTradeAlert I’d like Van to move him but the cap is expected to go up even more the following year by a lot. He becomes less of a risk in years to come with a rising cap and people are desperate for centers. Unless you get your value then hold on for now

We really don’t even need to trade duclair we are fine on cap but there’s bloat up front & no space for him. if that was the cost we’d just bury him in the AHL

a sneaky potential trade target for the #isles i’ve been thinking of is Filip Hronek. locked up for a very reasonable $7.25M for the next 6 seasons, taking him through his prime (Exp. Age 34) Gets Schaefer a RH partner long term - and if Islanders don’t trade Pelech they could potentially just stack their Defense next season to help Sorokin & take some pressure off Schaefer who shouldn’t be playing 28 minutes every night. With Vancouver rebuilding, I can see them also eating one of the Isles’ bad contracts - whether it’s Mayfield/Duclair/Engvall Considering Hronek got traded for a 17th overall pick & a 2nd in 2023 - I would imagine a return centered around the 13th overall pick this year could get it done. Isles Receive: Filip Hronek Canucks Receive: 13th Overall Pick One of Engvall/Duclair/Mayfield Jesse Pulkkinen or a 2027 2nd Round Pick If they don’t trade Pelech: Schaefer-Hronek Pelech-Pulock Romanov-DeAngelo If they do trade Pelech for a forward: Schaefer-Hronek Romanov-DeAngelo George-Pulock
