@frogapples_ Artists really need to file charges para mapuruhan tong org na to. Something like emotional distress, breach of contract/damages for lost income etc. If a celebrity was involved and umangal yun, they'd be 6ft dead under already.

bro 'Patrons of the Arts' cancelled a convention yesterday midnight, so some people cancelled their accomodations and got partial refunds. they then decided to un-cancel the event this midnight. the convention is in a week.

There's a con organizer in the ph that just canelled all their events after artists paid for the tables (some even for flights and hotels) I'm sorry to the artists that fell for them. but ngl I'm pretty sure they just rugpulled you all, i'd be surprised if they refund anyone

@Justamaxii yeah specially since if it would take legal action to get refunded, at that point you'd lose more time and money than if you just drop it and work on something else

@sp0o0kylights Yeah, I could imagine thats what happened. the big problem is they didnt talk to the artists that they might be cancelling (and un-cancelling) they just announce it publicly both times at times when the artists are probably asleep.

@frogapples_ I work in event planning, tons of ppl try to cancel events last minute and don't realize a lot of places (the convention venue, audio visual, etc) wont refund you 30 days out. A week? Fuck no, you're stuck paying. So they panic un-cancel, and end up just fucking up harder.

@RedsAdventureUK it really does fill up fast. unfortunately there's no strict waitlist, just an email list to be notified when the comms open. every now and then I raffle out the slots randomly among the people on the list. (the commission isnt free tho)

I can't imagine getting payment from a comm and just not doing it for months. the thought of "i gotta finish this comm now" would be in my mind every day until i finish it, I wouldnt be able to work on anything else
