@themoonruins @Stormkloud @HeavyMetal_999 Very true. In my opinion this is when they first showed that they could sound creepy, not just heavy.

@frontrowgeorge @Stormkloud @HeavyMetal_999 I always thought South of Heaven was a bit of a departure from their usual sound. It was a bit slower with more melodic riffs and a Judas Priest cover. I’m not saying that it was a complete 180 but compared to RIB it was pretty different.

@themoonruins @Stormkloud @HeavyMetal_999 Divine Intervention is one of my favorite albums. I agree 💯about the need to evolve versus getting stale. I respect Slayer because they stayed true to their sound and their fans during a period when most of their peers tried to change for all the wrong reasons.

@frontrowgeorge @Stormkloud @HeavyMetal_999 Slayer was only good up until Seasons themselves. MetallicA takes a lot of flack and deservedly so. The thing is that a band needs to evolve or they risk getting stale. No one wants to hear the same album drop 4 or 5 times. I think Hardwired was a fantastic album.
