Jews were a big part of the Ottoman Empire, no matter how much they try and hide it.
St. Kosmas of Aetolia, a great Orthodox preacher & educator under Ottoman rule, urged Christians to keep Sunday holy & move weekly markets off the Lord’s Day.
This hurt the business of Jewish merchants (who couldn’t trade on their Sabbath, Saturday).
The Jews complained, who worked closely with the Ottomans. slandered him as a Russian spy, and influenced Ottoman authorities.
On Aug 24, 1779, he was seized without trial & hanged.
His body also dragged by Jews and thrown in the river.
While he was alive, he always warned the enslaved Greeks of Jewish Plots against them…

W którym przemoc jest związana nierozerwalnie z instynktem przetrwania.
