Solid 2.0 is extremely good. So much machinery we have written on top of 1.0 gets thrown out for the new derived signals, async actions. Really CSR/SPA friendly. Going to dive into the beta

TLDR: operator overloading in TypeScript ✨ I am working on a minimal TypeScript fork (working name "tsover") that allows objects to define custom behavior for operations like +, *, ... - Drop-in replacement (testing in VSCode and Zed) - Aiming to keep up with TS releases

@davis7 @ronijuppi @shivamhwp Using both, but always in a centralized state store (RTK React, createStore Solid) I don’t even notice a difference over time, not meaningfully in scale or my designs

I'm gonna do an in defense of react vid, the the TL;DR of it is that components in react are pretty self contained. U update state in that component and it updates that component + it's children. Simple easy mental model. Signals are wires, you can send them all over the place and end up constantly re-running some derived state 5 components over if ur not careful. Signals are hard to keep track of, components arn't

Locally Bound Globals. I'm not sure if there's a another name for it or not, but it's essentially a "global pointer" that acts like a reference, and can be made to point to local variables, so you don't have to keep passing it as args to funcs you call. godbolt.org/z/WTjdoozf5

I've made progress towards what I think the future of Async looks like. I've been collecting examples to show aspects of the solution. They are all subtle, but I think the result is cohesive. Great examples to replicate in different solutions to compare. 1. The Great Divide: stackblitz.com/edit/github-ev… 2. Cascading States: stackblitz.com/edit/github-ev… 3. I believe Solid JS has a JSX syntax trick to convert event handlers into .bind Saving mem usage / GC from 2004 - 2026

@oriSomething As for dev, I've been finally doing TDD, then have opencode iterate permissionless until pass. On the whole, I wouldn't disagree though. Bit of a timing game right now. Still having fun in the TS compiler, of course.

@fscgo In the end. Some inspections needs to be done in the production line. There still no good solution for making this inspection automated. Tests/Linters barely cover everything. LLMs reviewers are far from being there
