A five-day Advanced Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (A-ESDP) on 3D Printing, titled “Empowering Innovation: A Training Program on 3D Printing for Aspiring Technologists and Entrepreneurs,” was conducted at the Foundation for Technology and Business Incubation (FTBI), NIT Rourkela, from 02–06 February 2026. The programme was jointly organised by FTBI and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Rourkela. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao (Director, NIT Rourkela), with the presence of Prof. Subrata Kumar Panda (President, @ftbi_nitr); Prof. Saroj Kumar Patel (Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering); Dr. Rudranarayan Kandi (Convenor of the Programme) and Mr. Chiranjibi Samal (CEO, FTBI). Sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, under the Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) scheme, the training focused on the technical aspects of 3D printing, hands-on sessions, live demonstrations, and entrepreneurial opportunities in the 3D printing domain. The Department of Food Process Engineering, in collaboration with the Foundation for Technology, Business & Innovation (FTBI), NIT Rourkela, organised an Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Training Programme on “Sustainable Livelihood Generation through Non-Timber Minor Forest Produce (ESDP-NTMFP 2026)”. The training programme was inaugurated by Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao, Director, NIT Rourkela, in the presence of Prof. Sabyasachi Mishra, Head, Department of Food Process Engineering, and Prof. Subrata Kumar Panda, President, FTBI. The ESDP focused on equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with practical skills in processing, value addition, and marketing of non-timber minor forest produce such as mahua, tamarind, honey, medicinal plants, and bamboo-based products, enabling the conversion of forest resources into viable livelihood opportunities. The five-day programme was coordinated by Prof. Rachna Sehrawat, with Prof. Khalid Gul and Prof. Winny Routray serving as co-coordinators. Inauguration of the 5-Day Advanced ESDP Programme! The 5-Day Advanced Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) on “Interactive Teaching Tools for Digital Human Modeling, Motion Capture and Analysis, and Use of Surface Electromyography in Biomechanics” was inaugurated at NIT Rourkela on January 12, 2026. The programme sponsored by @minmsme has drawn over 40 participants from 21 academic institutions and two startups across India. The inauguration commenced in the presence of Chief Guest Prof. Somnath Gangopadhyay (University of Calcutta), along with Prof. Niranjan Panda (Dean, Student Welfare), Prof. Mohammed Rajik Khan (ESDP Coordinator), Prof. Subrata Kumar Panda (President, FTBI), and Mr. Chiranjibi Samal (CEO, FTBI). Day one of the programme featured expert lectures by Prof. Gangopadhyay on “Ergonomics, Occupational Health, and Human-Centred Design: Bridging Research, Education, and Practice” and Dr. Vineet Vashista, Associate Professor, IIT Gandhinagar, on “Wearable Robotics – A Human-Centric Approach”. A training session was also conducted by Industry expert Mr. Mahesh Suradkar (3D Engineering Automation, Pune) on Tecnomatix Process Simulate Human.
