Do you feel like Islam vs. Topuria might be less exciting now? Here’s why. Just a year ago we were talking about the possibility of Islam Makhachev vs. Ilia Topuria being the biggest super fight since Khabib vs. McGregor. Both of them moved up and relinquished their belts to chase a title in a higher weight class, and back then it felt like a crazy gamble... there was a real chance one of them would lose and the fight wouldn’t be as big. But now they both won, and the matchup is even bigger. The only thing is… Islam will be an even bigger favorite, especially if it’s at 170 🤷‍♂️ After what we just saw Islam do to JDM, it’s hard to pick Ilia to win. I'm more excited to see Islam defend his belt against big welterweights like Morales or Usman.
