@fudefan If one compares like-to- like, (Fountain pens only) are Pilot's revenues & profit still higher than Sailor? Pilot has an enormous share of non fountain pen & stationery sales.

Pilot and Sailor both reported earnings today. Pilot's sales and net income are both up 10% YOY and gross margin is over 50%. Sailor's sales are down, gross margin is about 30%, and the company is bleeding again.

@YosekaBox let's hope not! 😅 Stationery sales were actually up, but robotics sales were down due to semiconductor shortages and more.

@shubh1 Thanks. I'm not as familiar with those brands so it's hard to say, but some of the pen turners are going interesting work with various materials.

@fudefan Thanks, very interesting how 2023 may see firming up of trends across the board related to pricing, steel nibs, inks & paper. Japan hopefully will continue to stay ahead in terms of experimentation & developments. Any views on European & American fountain pen & stationery brands
