I was trying to stay awake and drive carefully throughout the night on the highway. I had a family emergency and had to drive down to NC for a loss. I was winding around the mountain trying to beat the morning fog when I saw a man just walking along the highway. Wasn’t carrying anything just walking to himself at a normal pace. I decided to go back around to make sure he was stranded or anything. There wasn’t any exits coming up for the next mile at least. I was able to circle back around but he was gone, I’m not sure if he just went off road or if he was using the highway as a shortcut but it perplexed me as where he could have went, has this ever happened to you? Would you have stopped? I wasn’t going to get out just roll the window down and check to see if he needed help I would call for help for him.

Some people don’t just make bad choices. They turn them into a public scene, a criminal charge, a mugshot, a DUI, a court date, and a permanent reminder that one reckless moment can follow you for years. The drama is not worth it. Walk away. Call a ride. Calm down. Think ahead. Embarrassment fades for everyone watching, but consequences stay with the person who created them.
