I was not at Melbourne so I do not know what happened. What I will say is that I think this community posts about Japanese players more aggressively than any other group of people because of the shield a language barrier provides them and it is really heartbreaking to watch. 1/8

I played against Hiromu Sasaki in round 6 of Melbourne Regionals. In game 3 he played Unfair Stamp, drew 6, played Crushing Hammer, flipped tails, realised he drew 6 and pointed it out. He took the Crushing Hammer back and I called a judge.

@fullofhearttt If he’s taking too long turn to turn it’s obviously slow playing. If he’s playing at a fine pace I don’t see how it’s functionally different than Templar playing out the deck out vs Cerys in top cut of Toronto because dengo is really good in top cut time rules.

@fullofhearttt Oh I strongly disagree then. Unless he was slow playing which it didn’t sound like he was. Playing the max number of turns in g1 of a bad matchup where you have game locked up just feels smart. Full disclosure a member of my group hit the same guy later at euic so I may be biased

@fullofhearttt I don’t think DPLing himself is malicious and taking back the crushing hammer is the objectively correct ruling. The he said she said I can’t comment on but from Natalie’s recount, it probably would’ve been better for her if there was no DPL and the hammer stayed tails.

A similar situation occurred at EUIC when a notable player posted multiple times that their opponent used 4 lillie's, then took game just before deckout to play for a 1-0. Both examples are certainly tilt inducing but it does feel like a stretch to call either one malicious. 2/8
