Seeing a trend today of folk discussing if artists should be allowed to use the art from their commissioners freely. The fact is while artists may own the artwork itself, but they can't do whatever they want with commissioned art if the character is copyrighted by the customer.

I realized I’ve never really talked about this before, so I wanted to share a bit about my approach to character design work. This is just my personal philosophy, but when I receive a commission, I see it as being invited to help bring someone’s dream to life, like an architect helping to realize a vision. That’s why I place so much importance on truly understanding the client’s blueprint and direction. Even when adding my own style, I always check in advance whether that’s something the client actually wants.🏗️ For each project, I present multiple ideas and keep refining them together until the client is satisfied. I genuinely love this collaborative process. In my work, I tend to put my personal preferences second and focus on what best serves the client’s vision.✏️📒 Whether or not my name is attached to the project, I can fully commit to creating exactly in line with the given world and requirements. At the same time, I also deeply value developing my own creative identity in my personal work. In the past, I always prioritized my clients’ requests, but recently, more and more clients have been asking me to incorporate my own personal style into their projects, which truly makes me happy.😌💕

I hate it when somebody from your following list on here disappears, and you'll have no idea who it was without going to hell trying to figure it out. FYI it took me awhile, but found out one of the artists I was following here is gone, no idea why either, which sucks! :Y

Lilu has always been one of my favorite characters in the game. Designing her damaged version was honestly a little heartbreaking… but I think it turned out really well. Lately we've been talking about giving her a brand-new CG. Something very different from what she has now. Maybe even the complete opposite mood. I won’t say too much yet… but I’m curious what everyone will think when they see it. 👀

The new Toons cards in Yugioh are pretty hype! Really happy to see Dark Rabbit & Bickuribox get the remakes everybody wanted to see happen for ages, and the new Toon World with a closer effect to the anime version was a surprising treat too!

Wish I could get excited about the new DotHack// game coming... But the characters are just alternate designs based on the first set of games again... Technically different characters? sure! But feels like a pointless reimagining. Sometimes old franchises should be left alone.

@pingsley_ This problem plagues all indie games. While there are exceptions, but I seen tons of dev vids on YouTube, and I noticed a common trend of them being mostly coders & gameplay designers beyond anything else, and they don't even care about character design, nor care to hire for it.

Random question, are indie games that are inspired by Sonic do well? I only ask because I notice a trend with alot of indie games that are inspired by Sonic, missing what makes their game really unique. The characters. For example- (1/?)

I hate when peps view a sexy game or animation, and say stuff like "Regardless of the sexy designs, it is very good!" That isn't a nice compliment. The sexy content isn't something that needs separation or to act ashamed of, it is part of the whole experience! Enjoy it all!

I hate it when certain Youtubers edit out all the silence between their words. It is clear they have a phobia of losing viewer attention, but forcing themselves to seem like annoying chatterboxes turns their video into white-noise where I have a hard time understanding them.

I dislike how soulless the UI looks in most "professional" creation programs, like Unreal Engine as one example. Everything is always just dark gray boxes, and plain text or tiny icons with zero charm. It all really makes me miss building in something like LBP that had fun UI.

@Simon_Hypixel Hoi! I been casually following Hytale news for years, I am happy how the game has been turning out! Also wanted to ask, will there be any non-human avatar customization options in the future? Like robot or furry character stuff? Not big into making humans myself.

The peps who say they only want physical video games, and dislike digital games... have no clue what they are truly wanting. What they actually should ask for is games with no DRM, and is not tied to a online service. Because you can put any game on a CD, including your PC games.

I am not sorry to say gameplay alone doesn't interest me in most games, especially when we are talking about story & character based games. Furthermore I am tired of blank slate vessel main characters for self inserting, and without any companions. Tis soulless & boring.

Feels like a big chunk of modern gamers are antisocial even in single player story driven games, where they think of companion characters as annoyances by default. I really dislike that mindset, one big part I love is meeting & following the lives of interesting characters.

I watch lots of indie game dev vlogs on YT. But out of the Zelda inspired ones, I notice something weird... None of them make companion characters. One guy is even making a game inspired by Twilight Princess, but refuses to acknowledge it was "Midna" that made that game popular.

@AndySpark25 Honestly for years now, I felt I should look into making my own drawing app, because even MSpaint wasn't perfect, and there was always small hand of features I wanted it never had. But... having to get into programing is a big task, and it would be a long time before I get there.

@AndySpark25 I tried "Drawing" early on, wasn't a fan of it. I was reading about KolourPaint yesterday funny enough, I'll try it out later, but I can't really say I like the UI much from the pics I've seen.

Gotta say while Linux Mint is nice in many ways... there is also lots of annoying small stuff I hate about it. But as painful some of it can be, it is still far better then using Spydows 11 from Microslop! However I really miss Windows 7... Maybe I should look into more options.

@AndySpark25 I am aware of this, and I did look into a app named "Xscreensaver" but it was a bit cumbersome, I just need to revisit the subject later. Having a silly screensaver obviously isn't important nowadays, it is more of a merely fun gimmick now.

@fumetsusozo No direct screensaver but It makes screen go blank and other stuff if you click on battery you should access Power Manager or search in menu for screensaver
