GOT A FAVORITE TRACK? 30 Years Ago Today, the soundtrack to the Spike Lee joint Girl 6 dropped. It included previously released songs from @Prince and also 3 new tracks She Spoke to Me, Don't Talk to Strangers, and Girl 6. A longer version of She Spoke to Me would end up on The Vault...Old Friends For Sale, and Don't Talk to Strangers would become a track on Chaka Khan's Come 2 My House. While the soundtrack album heavily referred to Prince, he had already changed his name to O+> a few years earlier, so Prince did a press release to explain that all of the songs on the album were recorded when he was Prince, except for Girl 6, which was credited to New Power Generation. She Spoke 2 Me - Prince () Pink Cashmere - Prince () Count The Days - New Power Generation () Girls & Boys - Prince and the Revolution () The Screams Of Passion - The Family () Nasty Girl - Vanity 6 () Erotic City - Prince and the Revolution () Hot Thing - Prince () Adore - Prince () The Cross - Prince () How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore - Prince () Don’t Talk 2 Strangers - Prince () Girl 6 - New Power Generation ()

SHOW YOUR LOVE! A Thumpin Happy Birthday to BrownMark born on this day in 1962. His contributions to the Prince's legacy can not be understated. He served as his bassist for years, put together the mighty Mazarati which included helping Prince restructure his biggest hit (Kiss), and also put out some great solo work to boot. Have an amazing birthday Mark. You deserve a day off!

NAME THAT FAVORITE TRACK! 37 Years Ago, the mighty queens Wendy & Lisa released their 2nd album as a duo entitled Fruit at the Bottom. Their first 3 albums were solely written by Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman with no contributions by @Prince. However, they did utilize other artists in the purple circle across their solo efforts including Bobby Z, Jesse Johnson, Eric Leeds, Susannah Melvoin, Dr. Susan Rogers, and others. The album was re-issued a few times with different nuances each time. The list of songs below shows the original album tracklist along and then a half dozen reissue extras (remixes and bonus tracks). That includes a remix of the album opener called Lolly Lolly (According to Prince) that he put together and that also served as the B-side to the 12" single. Original Album Tracklist Lolly Lolly Are You My Baby Satisfaction Always In My Dreams Everyday From Now On (We’re One) Tears Of Joy Someday I I Think It Was December Fruit At The Bottom Reissue Extras Are You My Baby (7" Remix) Happy Birthday Lolly Lolly (According To Prince) Hip Hop Love Are You My Baby (My Man’s 12") Satisfaction (12" Dance Mix)

The 'Greatest Night in Pop' doc reveals 'We Are the World' was written by Lionel Richie & Michael Jackson, plus Prince's absence overshadowed the stars actually there, with Sheila E. feeling that she was invited only to get to him. #MusicHistory #Prince #WeAreTheWorld

Quincy Jones publicly dissed Prince, but Steve Parke caught him secretly jamming out at a concert! He was loving the show, stomping his feet and getting into it. Guess his brain was a little foggy, or maybe he just can't resist a good performance! #QuincyJones #Prince #Music

Prince kept unreleased music in the vault, including an acoustic blues album and a track called 'Mind Blow.' He shared these intimate sessions, even giving Steve Parke a guitar pick from one recording. #PrinceVault #MusicHistory

Prince was captivated by Gwen Stefani's fearless stage presence, especially when she climbed scaffolding during 'I'm Just a Girl'. He saw her as someone not afraid to take chances and be herself. #Prince #GwenStefani #MusicHistory

Prince trusted Steve Parke to paint 'Free' on his stomach with gold paint for a photoshoot. Despite the cold and early morning, Prince's giggles made the moment hilarious. It highlights a cool level of trust between artist and subject. #Prince #BehindTheScenes #ArtistLife

SHOW YOUR LOVE! A Happy Heavenly birthday for the soulful voice of the mighty Teena Marie. She would have been 70 today. She was signed as a solo act on Motown by Berry Gordy and had many hits including Lovergirl, I'm a Sucker For Your Love, Square Biz, and more. She then became attached at the hip with label mate Rick James who nicknamed her Lady T and brought us incredible duos like Fire and Desire off of Rick James' Street Songs album. Happy birthday Lady T!
