In 2009, a BBC documentary crew traveled to a remote island in New Zealand to film one of the rarest birds on earth. They found a flightless, 2-kilogram parrot named Sirocco. Because conservationists hand-raised him through a respiratory illness in 1997, Sirocco imprinted on humans and genuinely believes he is a person. He completely ignores his own species and refuses to interact with female parrots. So as zoologist Mark Carwardine filmed a segment, the large green bird climbed directly onto his shoulders, gripped his scalp, and vigorously attempted to mate with his head.
