Attacking Americans for applying to jobs they’re qualified for is a tell. This system only works if Americans lose. Lose jobs to cheaper pipelines, lose entry-level access before careers even start, lose wages as salaries are driven down, lose job security as roles disappear or move overseas. Families fall behind on mortgages and rent. Savings get drained. Recent grads send out hundreds of applications and never get a real shot. And now people who did everything right are told they’re the problem for even applying. Meanwhile the pipeline keeps running, labor arbitrage, visa-dependent hiring, offshoring of work and data, pushing income out of this country and increasing exposure to fraud, scams, and breaches.

The average quality of the Japanese posts now on my timeline is about 2 standard deviations higher than the non-Japanese posts. Possibly the biggest product improvement I’ve yet experienced on this app. Great stuff.
