There was a time when Buddhism flourished in India and Vaidika Dharma was on a decline. Why did this happen? Early Buddhism was focussed more on teaching the masses. Things that would benefit them, so people found it relevant. Vaidikas got entangled in Rituals, that despite being full of hidden symbolic knowledge, were meaningless to the uneducated masses. The only way to spread an idea is to make it relevant, translate it in a language people understand.
