This is good, but it doesn’t begin to assess the full harm secession would do — to Alberta, as much as Canada. It assumes, among other things, that a post-secession Alberta — assuming the rest of Canada agreed to such a thing — would keep its present borders, including the oil sands. There is no reason to assume this.
Resources belong to the provinces, under the Constitution — as provinces of Canada, and under the Constitution of Canada. The same does not apply to entities that are not provinces of Canada or governed by its Constitution.

I'm not radical, I'm the voice of reason. It's not controversial to recognize that being Canadian is about more than having a piece of paper. To be Canadian is to be a part of an intergenerational lineage stretching back to the pioneers that settled and built this country from nothing. This is an obvious reality that everyone understands whether or not they are willing to admit it yet. I'm just the guy who's willing to say what everyone else is thinking.
