@RAF_Luton 😂 Reminds me of when I went to Farnborough back in 1990. One of the stars was to be new F117 but it wasn't there due to imminent gulf war. USAF, to their credit, set up a set of steps and pilot in full gear and a sign saying "F117 stealth fighter - good isn't it?" 😁

Some days you can’t love social media enough. This is one of those days. It began like this. Someone stole 12 tons of KitKats. And then the replies started coming in. Scroll down.

@WilliamsdbF1 The absolute state of F1 news media these days! It's a really badly written article that says absolutely nothing about anything. What a load of horse shit!

@TomGaymor @F1 It's painful to watch certainly but, what if it happens when 2 cars are close together and the front one derates whilst the car behind doesn't need to? You'd only need a few 10ths of a second difference to cause a serious sudden speed differential. 😬

Following the accident involving Oliver Bearman at the Japanese Grand Prix and the contribution of high closing speeds in the accident, the FIA would like to provide the following clarifications. #FIA #F1 #JapaneseGP

@Michael19896378 @tommyboy0690 @kprather88 "not true" AND "not verifiable"?! If it's not verifiable, that's fair enough, you can't claim it's true. But, equally, not verifiable also means you can't claim it's not true, simply that you don't know. Grok is thick and simply led by the phrasing of the question. 🤦

@BradleyPhilpot Split. On one hand, cars actually seem to be able to follow each other through bends which is creating some great, legitimately close racing. But, power deployment differentials are still creating too much artificial racing. If they can get the pu sorted, it has potential.

Are you enjoying this season of F1, or do we need an immediate change to the rules to help the non-Mercedes / Ferrari factory teams?

Great job @Carlossainz55 and @WilliamsF1! Points in race 2 after the early season difficulties is epic. Much work to do still but an unexpected boost!

@c7carl @williamssupport Woke at 6:30 and didn't feel I'd "missed" the sprint. Was already meh about sprints and with these regs, double meh. Mightn't even set alarm tomorrow morning. Until Williams bring some perf. to the car or all teams can understand the new regs better I'm meh about the whole thing!

Do I get up for the Sprint Race at 3am? What are the chances of Williams not finishing towards the back? Hmmm

@ZackPolanski They go right over my head here in the south Cotswolds which makes it very real. I wouldn’t trust Parliament with the decision which is sad. I would trust a referendum though.

@rpeterson2317 @_aarava Nope. Didn't much like that either. Though, where the drs zone was the right length it worked. Got them alongside into the braking zone but not fully passed.

Having digested that first 2026 F1 race more. My thoughts - No denying seeing Merc v Ferrari for an F1 race lead again was great in the opening laps. The race overall was entertaining, but the nature of that as Leclerc put it was a bit "Mario Kart".... ...with time, teams developing/learning efficicency use of battery, maybe it'll settle into a happy middle ground? If not, the yo-yo flow of that race will be a common theme. Basically like watching an F1 Game race IRL lol. Is that a bad thing? Ppl always have commented the game races are more entertaining....Up for debate when its real life. Also, Ferrari, why no pits under VSC? They surely could have had a go for P2 at least without the lost delta. Amazing rookie debut from Arvid Lindblad, punchy racing, love it. Audi first points in F1, really happy to see! Piastri, devastating, but long ol season. One where McL might not be in a title frame? So in reality, its but a blip on what his season can still be. Hope we see a steep learning curve rise of Kimi Antonelli, hes got a race winning car now, time to find that next level to get his first ever F1 race win. I think it can happen in the first 5 races. Hamilton smiling and seeming energised after that race, where he did visibly look more in his element, so good to see. Hope we see more of that for the whole year 🙏

The F1 Australian GP lived up to the hype of the new regulations 👏 After some initial worries about extremely conservative driving, the amount of tactical racing and overtakes we saw in the race proved the doubters wrong #f1 #Formula1 #australiangp

@NobleF1 It was entertaining but it lacked any sense of drama. A pass is not an overtake. An overtake needs anticipation in the build up and then race craft and skill in the execution. These "passes" had neither. I'd prefer half as many genuine overtakes than these contrived passes.

We already need a new word for “overtake”, because that’s not what these position swaps are.

@412T2Stan Exactly. Driving past on the straight is not overtaking, whether due to battery power offset, DRS or anything else artificial. An overtake is an outbraking manoeuvre into a bend or an undercut on exit. Overtakes happen in the bends, if it happens on the straight it's just a pass

Ok, I know we're only a few laps in to the #AustraliaGP #AusGP but, driving past someone on the straight ISN'T overtaking whether it's due to excess battery or DRS. What happened to out braking your opponent into a bend?

Right, I need a new sport to watch. All 3 of the teams are painful to support atm. @LFC just frustrating to watch @WilliamsF1 look likely to have a pretty mediocre start to the season And, as for @EnglandRugby, holy crap they're shit! Choose me a sport and team to follow!

@EdSpencer99 But the reason for the hybrid isn't just eco/co2 reduction, was it? The manufacturers (particularly Audi as condition for entry) wanted technology that was more road relevant. So using synthetic fuels wouldn't help with that.

For me, the moment #F1 should have taken a detour with the 2026 regulations was when Seb Vettel drove a 30-year-old Williams FW14B at Silverstone using sustainable fuels. That made it clear to me that there was another way rather than persisting with the turbo hybrids. 1/4
