She liked it simple. Fate had other ideas. She was now entangled, in the labyrinth of its web. Faint echoes of her passing, now and in the hereafter, trembled in the weave. One step at a time. She began to move. Time to tread the path #vss365

The #charm lay hidden at first, and then as the years ground by, forgotten, buried deep within the rafters, tending to the occupants and then the lineage, in Pendle’s stricken Witch swept past #vss365

A terraced row, broken teeth, along the East West jaw of the fading City, & steel capped doors, insufficient to keep the #mischief that still stirred within dark earth rooted cellars, peeking out to plan such shenanigans as that day might still permit, entirely at bay #vss365

Blue #sapphires her eyes that once matched the colour of her dresses, like the faded bandana fabric that kept her now grey hair in check. But she had grit. Would not give in. Relentless, Blade beside her, and paradise still might become enow. One day. Perhaps #vss365

Divine the right that placed her family thus, or so they said, backed by the might of the royal host, & the wealth that bought what it did not need to bludgeon. But it was #happenstance that led her here where Blade waited for the hand to light then wield it #vss365

Once she was alone. A solitary flicker in the great dark expanse of night. And then came Blade. She was no longer a candle in the wind, but #together a blazing beacon, and her fury burnt to ashes each dark shade that sought to sustain the dark #vss365

She would not cry. Her face was blank. She would not let them see the tear they gouged deep inside her heart. But they would pay. She had but to reach the #Blade that sang its’ song of pain and sorrow within her dreams #vss365

@iocyberpunk Write what you enjoy - engage with constructive criticism / feedback and avoid vituperative sensationalist snark - it’s takes time and effort to write and this should be encouraged not disrespected

I’ll probably delete this later but I’m questioning why I still pursue this art form. It wasn’t always like this but “book people” are repulsive now. Always looking to tear someone down for a microscopic chance to go viral. Books were better when reading was a loner’s hobby.

It began with a #promise, given freely, paid in blood, that echoed through the ages. Blade hummed content in its sheath, high on her back, whilst she moved slow but vigilant along the forest’s edge. It was here to collect. Actions have consequences #vss365

Hereditary, entitled, enriched. They’d given an Oath once, of protection and justice in return for what the serfs had left to give. But Oaths, apparently, were easily broken. The haze of burning crofts hung over fields strewn with the dead. Where was the #purpose in that #vss365

This feeling in his gut, that wrenched wellbeing, root and branch, mandrake shrieking from the fetid depths of his despair, was not #spiritual. Wracked, he dropped the phone, his daughters words, “we’re not even that close” resonating in the deafening silence of his heart #vss365

No beating gem could not resist the irrefutable point of her #Blade. Job done, she’d sent him on his way, a dark journey fitting for a black #onyx heart #vss365

@JWrynnWrites Libre office - or Open office - both fully functional suited with good WP’s / Spreadsheets - but for writing I use Scrivener and Ulysses (alas only available on Mac but excellent for organising AND writing with built in word counts and targets)

I got a new laptop, yay! But I'm losing MS Word by switching, what's a good alternative that everyone feels is decent, and free?

It was not that he’d removed the man she’d once loved. Or supplanted the peace she’d once known. It was none of those things. He’d forced her to leave, displaced her from the wooded calm of the valley where once she’d lived. For that he would surely pay #vss365

He was a #complex character, they said, in exoneration or excuse she could never quite fathom. But it was really very simple: he loved her, or he did not. He respected her, or he did not. Everything else was fluff #vss365

When writing, do you need music playing in the background or complete silence?
