There is a beauty in the bokeh, a uniquely soft sensitive and gentle subtlety that can’t be found elsewhere. Shooting at extreme shallow depth of field creates an intimacy with the subject. Beautiful bokeh like this only comes from great glass and for me that’s Canons RF 50mm f1.2 L USM and RF 85mm f1.2L USM. My fascination with shooting wide open has continued throughout my career, and sometimes switching of the autofocus and experimenting with the bokeh as abstract. “Bokeh” is a Japanese word that refers to the way that a lens renders points of light that are out of focus. In Japanese, the word means “blur” or “haze. bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in out-of-focus parts of an image, caused by circles of confusion. It's gear buying time. I have two R1's on the way. I think trading the R3 for an R5 C would be solid move through @mpbcom. The value of the trade is within $100. Is that a dumb idea in any way? I have never used an R5 C. Get more pickles, and a pretty cool video camera?
