As Memorial Day weekend continues, Troopers and Officers across Georgia have now made 219 DUI arrests and statewide traffic fatalities have risen to 9 lives lost. Please do not drive impaired.

The Memorial Day Holiday Travel Period is still underway, and overnight, DUI arrests across Georgia increased from 89 to 185. That’s 185 impaired drivers removed from Georgia roadways in less than 48 hours.

While many travelers focus on passenger vehicles during holiday travel, our Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers are also working to keep our roads safe. CVE plays a critical role in protecting everyone who shares the road.

While on patrol, TPR King stopped to help a stranded motorist change a tire and get back on the road. Moments like this are a reminder that law enforcement is about more than enforcing the law it’s about serving people, compassion, and being there when someone needs help most.
