So I've started writing some smart contracts in Solidity for practicing more, with no AI, only me and my ol' good Emacs. You can check it out here: github.com/gabehellz/crow… This week goal is creating 4 more Crowdfunding contracts, adding more complexity on each one.

📍Progress on my journey to become a Solidity developer: ✅ Cyfrin Updraft courses (Solidity fundamentals → Advanced Foundry) 👉 profiles.cyfrin.io/u/rosarioborge…@buidlguidl Speedrun Ethereum challenges 👉 speedrunethereum.com/builders/0xce6… ⚙️Next step: @OpenZeppelin Ethernaut

This is my plan to get a job as a Solidity developer 👇 1. I completed all @CyfrinUpdraft courses up to Advanced Foundry to build strong Solidity fundamentals and use Foundry at a professional level 2. I’m doing the Speedrun Ethereum challenges @buidlguidl to gain real experience building protocols in Solidity 3. I’ll complete the @OpenZeppelin Ethernaut challenges to strengthen my Solidity skills and security mindset 4. I’ll deep dive into @Uniswap v1, @aave v1, and @SkyEcosystem DAI v1 to understand how real DeFi protocols are designed from the ground up 5. If a job doesn’t come, I’ll keep learning and studying newer versions of these protocols.

Announcing the Solidity Testing Handbook ✨ Fully free, one-stop resource for Solidity developers and security researchers. Resources are currently scattered across blogs, docs, and forums. I found it difficult to keep track of everything in one place. This handbook aggregates all testing patterns from basic unit tests to advanced mutation tests into a single, well-organized guide for quick reference. It’s built from my own learnings and best practices observed in popular codebases. soliditytestingbook.com

Governance was supposed to save DeFi. Instead, it's the #1 attack surface in 2026. Attackers aren't hacking code — they're "legally" draining treasuries with your own governance tokens. I've audited dozens of DAOs. Most are one flash loan away from total loss. Here are the 4 governance attack vectors exploding right now: 1. Flash Loan Voting: Borrow 51%of governance tokens → pass any proposal → return loan. Cost: < $50k in fees for multi-million drains. 2. Proposal Hijacking: Low quorum DAOs? Attacker submits "harmless" proposal → team endorses → slips in treasury transfer at the end. Nobody reads the full code. 3. Token Concentration Plays: Whales delegate quietly → suddenly control 60% → "community-approved" rug. 4. Bribe Markets Openly bribe voters on Snapshot. "Vote yes get 5% of treasury." Totally on-chain and "democratic". Most DAOs choose "vibes" over security. Are you in any DAO that could survive these?

As much as I’d love to jump straight into the @uniswap V2 code, I know it’s still too early for me. The Speedrun Ethereum challenges are giving me the chance to practice with simpler use cases, and that’s helping me learn way better. Coming from @cyfrinupdraft, I feel confident about my Solidity knowledge. But I also know I still lack experience in building protocols from scratch. That’s exactly why these Speedrun Ethereum @buidlguidl challenges are such an important part of my learning journey. You don’t start building a house from the roof. You start from the foundation. 🧱
