How the new patch notes got me feeling

Ok let's review the season 7 patch, we got: 1. THREE BANS IN RANKED (FINALLY!!) 2. 20% global ult charge nerf 3. buffs to a lot of struggling characters (BP omindirectional dash and double jump QoL, Blade massive changes, Magik dash hitbox doubled in size, Torch huge ammo buff with more on the way in 7.5) 4. decent nerfs to a lot the more oppressive characters (Elsa gets punished a lot harder for dying by losing stacks, still a bit too strong tho. Gambit ult down to 8 seconds, with some minor nerfs to movement speed and the ult generation buffs he provides) Overall, I think this is a pretty good patch. It'll be a pretty refreshing meta, thanks to more player agency through bans and the other buffs/nerfs I mentioned. I hope we get more patches like this, it's definitely a step in the right direction. W Zhiyong.

BP "buff" aside, I do genuinely think S7 will be a massive improvement. Yes pokeslop will always be overpowered and Elsa is the worst character they've ever balanced on release, but we're finally starting to heal from ultslop and that alone will expose a lot of people who depend on Q and don't know how to play a lick of neutral. BP still needs a rework, I still think uptime > damage would fix him since he already can barely function in the meta, but I'm resigned to the fact that some characters will just get left behind. That said, the shift towards neutral game will benefit him a lot. Full thoughts below 🫡
