I'm pleased @FrontBurnerCBC shared this interview, which sheds light on a persistent fallacy of Western media: accepting narratives shaped by the Israeli government/army as absolute truth. It was striking how the journalist persistently framed my statements as mere "beliefs" instead of what they are—evidence-based expert opinions grounded in facts & int'l law. Even the Nakba was labeled “contested” simply because the State of Israel dismisses it. Since when legal interpretations and obective assessments depend on the validation of those involved?

Israel has announced to the world that it has ethnically cleansed northern Gaza. From the very start, it has been hideously clear what Israel’s intentions are. But it’s those who have said so who have been smeared, while the apologists and deniers have faced no accountability.

Read @RebeccaSolnit and absorb that hope is not a bird in the sky you hope lands near you, it’s an active orientation. You find it in the care for someone else or something else outside of yourself. It’s bigger than you. It’s an act of cultivation. Rub two sticks together.

We need to hear much more about these grassroots efforts to end the assault on Palestinians. Journalists' routines over-rely on official sources & so we hear from military and political voices, and consistently miss out on people-led efforts for peace
