@x103p Rivals is #1 hero shooter, let’s start with that. Overwatch is past its glory, and people still play it cuz they are either mad Rivals is a massive success or they have rigs that simply can’t run UE5 games

Am I crazy to think hero shooters like marvel rivals and overwatch is the meta for games rn? If a show/movie/franchise has a big enough universe to support 100+ characters, it could totally work. I don’t even like D.C, but I would play for the iconic characters

@thnksfrthmsryOW @OWTVgg There is a HUGE difference b/w "partner teams dominating the lower half" and getting absolutely dominated yourself against what was the 6th place team and sitting in relegation. Losing the game itself isnt nearly as much of the worry as the complete 180 after 2 respectable losses

You've lowered the bar so far for a partner team that you're failing to realize that even being in this position is already dissapointing.

@gamja2174 @OWTVgg everything to do with owcs being 6 teams and nothing to do with the strength of these rosters btw. DSG was on paper the best roster u could build with only free agents and is competing closely with top teams ignoring this big upset. And lower emea is a dogfight whole way

@srfc_hg Well considering Rivals esports also has drops and can barely maintain 10k viewers, while OW gets like over 100k, I think there’s still considerable interest, especially with it being the biggest week ever for OWCS viewership. Also, sponsors only care about the viewer numbers.

i think its great that ow esports is getting such good viewership but i do wonder about the ratio of fans vs drops viewers, and how monetiseable the average drops viewer is for the esport itself
