This is probably very controversial and would get me crucified if I was a big account but being gay is a gift, and I appreciate the insight being outside the heteronormative system gives me. Who cares if your kid has your genetics? Why care about anything but loving your children

my beliefs about rescuing animals also applies to kids. I understand that making kids is really easy for most people but if you can’t I think you should really consider not trying to fight that. Every time I see a gay couple go for surrogacy I get a little sad

Even if you want something specific - we wanted an orange cat and had so many options to choose from. This little guy was wandering the streets in Hawaii and now he’s the Favorite Pet of a gay guy friend group in Seattle.
If you can’t find what you want? Who cares, get a cat

this is something that sounds extreme to a lot of people, but it’s the only ethical endpoint if you look beyond the perverse need to get exactly what you want when you want it.

Online reactionary attitudes now are tipping the scales, but by and large a significant amount of people don’t know when they’re being preached to

Conservatives are (or were, at least) actually really good at looking past politics in their shows because Hollywood is overwhelmingly full of liberal people making stories that reflect their worldviews, even if they aren’t about political issues. They’d have no TV otherwise.
