They’re telling us literally nothing we don’t already know. This is so obvious; they will sort us at the level they are now until someone better comes along and then they’ll fade into the background and look out for us. It’s been the same since day 1.

With Danson we have a football club, but don’t own a stadium. Without Danson we’d still not own a stadium, and have nothing to argue over on X. #wafc

@faz42 He did but that is the safety net we need. If we had another Bahraini owner who bought the club, stripped the assets; the training ground; then the stadium then we cease to exist. Danson owning the stadium means that at the very least we have somewhere to keep playing.

@garkaaa No, he wanted the stadium. If it was to take us further we would retain the stadium and not be paying him rent and the women paying warriors rent. The 20% is a smokescreen.

My take on this is that Danson has acknowledged he’s not going to take us further on the money required which I can understand, and we knew, but he’s willing to basically sit in as a safety net in case anything goes tits up. I don’t see much issue with it. #WAFC

Watching Toy Story 3 with my kids. In the landfill, the toys are apparently the only conscious beings amid all the random plastic objects. And yet in the fourth installment we’re introduced to a self-aware spork that Bonnie, a young child, has named Forky. This suggests that consciousness in the Toy Story universe is imbued into objects only once they are named and loved by a human being. This would explain why the toys in Sid’s room in the first film apparently have a more rudimentary and savage form of consciousness, reflecting the conscious state of the child who owns them. I need to develop this theory more. I’ll let you know what I come up with.

Finally having a squad out of contract is probably useful if not slightly worrying as we could lose some decent players. They have a strong position to bring players in that we actually want, albeit at a risk of losing some we’d like to keep. Depends If Danson will pay up.

I don’t see why people are up in arms regarding any of this. All seems pretty above board; sustainably championship seems like a reasonable goal before eventually a push towards the Prem like every team has aspirations for. A smaller playing squad makes a lot of sense too.

Wages and budget are sent to a big financial entity such as Deloitte en masse, who then release a ranking without specifics back to the club. The point they’re making is that the money in L1 has never been this big so our formerly large budget is now mid-table.
