I see multiple Aggies on the timeline wanting Jason Kelly fired immediately. I don’t think that is how it’s gonna work. I don’t see a scenario where Earley gets to just fire him without losing his job also. Maybe if at a minimum he wins a regional
@Nick18Yo@AggieBaseball@BrookshireBros Too bad that same coach and all that experience didn’t automatically advance him and his team out of their own regional last year.
So is Bama great yet?
All I keep hearing is about last year. How about the team that is 24-6 and averaging 10 runs a game.
@garrett_buckner@AggieBaseball@BrookshireBros Bama was AWFUL before their coach got there. Earley inherited way more talent than bama has had in baseball at any point in recent history. You need to do your research, and yes earley has been better but he hasn’t been good. We made the CWS 2 out of 3 years before Earley
@Nick18Yo@AggieBaseball@BrookshireBros They are about to be a top 15 team if they win game 2 of DH. How many great teams are there in your opinion? Are you going to include Alabama as “great”? Just because someone has experience means nothing. Check out South Carolina
@garrett_buckner@AggieBaseball@BrookshireBros We aren’t terrible but we aren’t good. The amount of money we have and the recruiting resources that we have access to, there is no excuse for us to not be a consistent top 15 team. If you seriously think we wouldn’t be better off with an experienced coach you’re clueless
@johnpaulp@PFlat2 In a sport where anybody can beat anybody…… I’m sorry the worst part about all of that was the crap you had to take from horns fans on Twitter. To which the only response is to lazily blame the guy who had some question marks as the head guy because he’d never done it
@garrett_buckner@PFlat2 All of that could have been true. You could give all the benefit of the doubt in the World. All the way up til you got swept at home with your season on the line against 0-27 in SEC Missouri. Hopefully he does something with this second chance
@PFlat2@johnpaulp 1 season of missing a regional where everything goes against the guy & you go the easy route because you don’t actually know the game of baseball. On the brink of winning another series and being ranked inside the top 20. Sounds like a time to panic about missing a regional 💀
@garrett_buckner@johnpaulp And I was fine with the higher until Mike Earley had the greatest and most epic collapse in college baseball history.
Mike Earley made me "dislike the hire"
it’s not like that came from a fucking vacuum
@PFlat2@johnpaulp So they missed it in a year where 2 future top 100 players are hurt for nearly the entire season. It is also a sport where anyone can beat anyone and breaks within any given weekend can swing the momentum of your season. Combine that with the negativity spewed at them
@PFlat2@johnpaulp They’re 23-6 w a chance to win 2 today, stay in the top 20 come Monday & you’re worrying about not making a regional. Not going to have the physical makeup of the 24’ tm every year. People like you should stop pushing that kind of expectation just because you didn’t like the hire
@johnpaulp If I'm being honest we probably eek into a regional as a 2 or 3. We will not host.
but I could certainly see a scenario where we don’t get in. We have multiple potential sweeps (not the good kind) on the schedule ahead
Can’t wait to watch everyone whining about the coaching staff and pitching back pedal after A&M baseball wins both DH games today. Which will make 6 out of their last 7 and are 25-6 on the season.
@plewisbaseball@Attackwatch1 Why is this proving that seeing a pitch even if a strike to start off an at bat, results in an insignificant difference in BA 💀
Difference was back then they would see the same arm for 9 innings. Today you see specialist after specialist with different arm angles and absolutely ELECTRIC stuff. Negro Leagues had some of the best arms of all time IMO, but seeing a guy 4-5 times is much different from today's game. Love the input! Definitely not a hard-line way to approach hitting. I just hated giving a strike away by being passive. Would much rather swing and miss than take one.
If you have a hitting coach who tells you to “take a strike” RUN (unless it’s late and down several runs…..even then I hate it). As a pitcher, the goal is to get one of the first two over for a strike. Why be passive early? It’s a terrible approach IMO. 0-1 is not an advantage as a hitter. Hitting is hard enough with 3 strikes. Why give one away?
Freshman Anthony Pack Jr. has been nothing short of electric for the Longhorns.
OPS'ing over 1.000 with a near equal K-BB ratio and a plus bat-to-ball ability. It's a well-rounded package.
