@felixrieseberg This is jaw dropping. It’s like someone’s sitting at my computer working while texting with me. I need to re-orient on what’s possible.

We're shipping a new feature in Claude Cowork as a research preview that I'm excited about: Dispatch! One persistent conversation with Claude that runs on your computer. Message it from your phone. Come back to finished work. To try it out, download Claude Desktop, then pair your phone.

We believe emergency systems should be easy to test. The Rescue Network now includes remote Test Mode, allowing schools to safely practice card activations and experience how the system responds, without triggering an actual emergency or sending notifications to responders. Practice doesn't just build confidence in your ability to manage emergencies, it also builds confidence in the technology you use every day to support and protect your people. Oh and it works in all AI4-equipped cars, so your car can do office work for you when not driving. We’re also deploying millions of dedicated Digital Optimus units in the field at Superchargers where we have ~7 gigawatts of available power.

Macrohard or Digital Optimus is a joint xAI-Tesla project, coming as part of Tesla’s investment agreement with xAI. Grok is the master conductor/navigator with deep understanding of the world to direct digital Optimus, which is processing and actioning the past 5 secs of real-time computer screen video and keyboard/mouse actions. Grok is like a much more advanced and sophisticated version of turn-by-turn navigation software. You can think of it as Digital Optimus AI being System 1 (instinctive part of the mind) and Grok being System 2. (thinking part of the mind). This will run very competitively on the super low cost Tesla AI4 ($650) paired with relatively frugal use of the much more expensive xAI Nvidia hardware. And it will be the only real-time smart AI system. This is a big deal. In principle, it is capable of emulating the function of entire companies. That is why the program is called MACROHARD, a funny reference to Microsoft. No other company can yet do this.

Humanoid robots are a vanity project, an inexplicably stupid idea. We need robots that do things humanoids cannot, not a neo-Aryan army. The future of Tesla is an army of humanoid robots that Elon Musk says could eliminate poverty and the need for work wsj.com/tech/elon-musk…

@elonmusk @amitisinvesting So sounds like short term still heavy reliance on NVIDIA but long term AI5 and 6 could reduce that reliance in the datacenter.

@amitisinvesting In a supercomputer cluster, it would make sense to put many AI5/AI6 chips on a board, whether for inference or training, simply to reduce network cabling complexity & cost by a few orders of magnitude. One could call that Dojo 3, I suppose.

AS PER BLOOMBERG: - Tesla is winding down efforts with Dojo - Focusing their compute needs on Nvidia, AMD, and Samsung - Pete Bannon, VP, is now leaving Tesla after most of the Dojo team has begun to leave My take: not really a big deal. Most of the Tesla bull case has been rooted in FSD/Optimus, not Dojo. In fact, the focus on outsourcing compute/chips should only accelerate FSD/Optimus vs trying to do it in house. Elon said in 2023 there was a low probability of Dojo working. Deepens the moat on Nvidia — just easier to buy their chips vs replace them. $TSLA $NVDA $AMD

A couple reflections on the quantum computing breakthrough we just announced... Most of us grew up learning there are three main types of matter that matter: solid, liquid, and gas. Today, that changed. After a nearly 20 year pursuit, we’ve created an entirely new state of matter, unlocked by a new class of materials, topoconductors, that enable a fundamental leap in computing. It powers Majorana 1, the first quantum processing unit built on a topological core. We believe this breakthrough will allow us to create a truly meaningful quantum computer not in decades, as some have predicted, but in years. The qubits created with topoconductors are faster, more reliable, and smaller. They are 1/100th of a millimeter, meaning we now have a clear path to a million-qubit processor. Imagine a chip that can fit in the palm of your hand yet is capable of solving problems that even all the computers on Earth today combined could not! Sometimes researchers have to work on things for decades to make progress possible. It takes patience and persistence to have big impact in the world. And I am glad we get the opportunity to do just that at Microsoft. This is our focus: When productivity rises, economies grow faster, benefiting every sector and every corner of the globe. It’s not about hyping tech; it’s about building technology that truly serves the world.
