Wash over us again. Not just behavior, but heart. Not just actions, but motives. We confess our sins to You now, Lord, trusting Your promise that You are faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Thank You that forgiveness is not based on our performance, but on Your character. You are faithful. You are just. You are merciful. Guard us from deception, Father. Keep us from saying we have no sin, because Your Word says that when we do, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8). Keep us humble. Keep us aware.
