reUSD is like a conservative savings account that earns yield. It’s made for people who want onchain yield but don’t want to manage risk and don’t want to understand insurance mechanics.
When you hold $reUSD your starting money is protected, yield automatically compounds and your money is locked in ways that match how insurance capital actually works.
HOW $reUSD EARNS YIELD
reUSD doesn’t chase risky profits, it earns money from boring but reliable sources such as
~ Short-term U.S. government bonds
~ Low-risk trading strategies that don’t bet on price direction
~ A small, steady slice of profits from Re’s insurance business
All of this is designed to keep reUSD stable and predictable and when you deposit into reUSD:
• Your funds are placed into smart-contract vaults
• These vaults supply capital to insurance pools
• But reUSD sits at the top, protected from losses
For me $reUSD is my favorite cause I can’t handle losses..!!

reUSDe is like equity or a junior investment,it’s for people who are comfortable with risk, want higher potential returns and understand that losses are possible
HOW $reUSDe WORKS
reUSDe does NOT protect your principal and it sits below reUSD. If insurance claims are worse than expected reUSDe takes the hit first.
HERE’S WHY SOMEONE WOULD WANT TO HOLD $reUSDe
In exchange for taking that risk reUSDe holders earn a bigger share of insurance profits and when things go well, returns can be much higher than reUSD but If things go badly, $reUSDe can lose its value.
Note: the risk and reward tradeoff is intentional.
