@john316marshall A Resurrection of a dead church and the birth of a new church are two totally different pastoral experiences.

"Church revitalization is the hardest thing you will ever do" (Ed Stetzer). Ouch. I fear he may be right.

@john316marshall Yes! Also, it is interesting that Luke says more about the personal prayer life of Jesus, than all the other Gospels. He never met Him, but he knew Him.

Without the Gospel of Luke, we would not know of Zaccheus, the Good Samaritan, and the Prodigal Son. Our loss would be severe. Ian and I hope you will join us for our podcast discussion of this precious book. open.spotify.com/episode/0a3X6u…

This is your periodic reminder that the First Amendment does not require that a business has to retain you as an employee if you make public comments that are embarrassing to the company and bad for business.

We wrestle not against flesh and blood. The evil one is an ancient, relentless enemy. He is not interested in framing a debate, to contend for the truth. He spreads evil, to annihilate the truth, not to debate it. Be PrePRAYERed for war.

@RobertBurns82 “We must do everything we can.” Sounds like great advice. Do everything you can, to make sure these people are kept away from any office of authority in NC.

@john316marshall Like a long, lingering rain, saturate our land, with your Holy Spirit’s Presence and His power, one heart and one home at a time. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen

What I read and see is causing me to more and more realize we need intervention from above. We need undeniable evidence of power and blessing to descend on us. Let’s pray with Isaiah (64:1), “If only You would tear the heavens open, and come down.” May God’s power fall on us.

One Way to Get Involved First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. -1 Timothy 2:1-2

@drkenalford In 1978, I was in my last semester of seminary. I remember hearing Dr. Curtis Vaughan say, “I have taught Colossians for over 30 years, and every time I read it I learn something new.” I was stunned. He was right.

@john316marshall I think you are onto something very profound. “Jesus wept,” over the conditions of the city of Jerusalem. His tears triggered His compassion for others. Perhaps our sadness should do the same thing.

. I have a supposition I want your feedback on. I often feel I do a better job of praying for others when I am sad about something in my own life. Is this even possible, or am I off base here?

@KieBowman This is not a trick question. Anyone, with Jesus in their heart, should express a heart for prayer.

If Abraham, Moses, Hannah, Elijah, Daniel, Nehemiah, Mary, Peter, Paul, Anna, and Jesus all lived lives of prayer, shouldn’t I? “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.”(Colossians 4:2)

What a pathetic excuse for leadership. Gavin Newsom didn’t just mock prayer, he mocked millions of faithful Americans who believe in something bigger than government. This isn’t just tone-deaf. It’s a full-blown assault on the values that built our nation. Let’s be clear: the radical Left isn’t even pretending anymore. They used to sneer behind closed doors. Now they spit in the face of faith on social media to score cheap political points with their elite donors and Twitter followers. But here’s the thing, prayer isn’t weakness. It’s strength. It’s the foundation of every family, every community, and every Soldier who’s ever bowed their head before battle. Gavin can mock it all he wants, but I’ll keep praying. For him. For this country. And for the strength to defeat arrogant elitists like him who put politics over people every single time.
Gavin Newsom@GavinNewsom

GREAT NEWS! My daughter Elina is in remission from Hodgkin’s lymphoma!! Her petscan results came back this afternoon and she’s in the clear! Bottom line is she’ll now get regular check ups for the next five years which is standard, but she is in remission! Praise Jesus, praise Jesus! 🙏🙏🙏 Thanks to everyone who has prayed her and our family through this!

Where is God when tragedy strikes? I can answer this at a very personal level. My father was brutally murdered in 1970 and our family was devastated. Yet God’s comforting presence was there… loving us and leading us from darkness to light. He is near to the broken hearted and those crushed in spirit Ps 34. Jesus is there in our darkest hour. To those families in Minnesota, and to all who suffer, we pray God’s peace upon you and that you may experience His grace and mercy. I know this is the answer to life’s biggest tragedies

When I landed @JohnWayneAir Saturday to preach @Harvestriv I went to get my luggage and a lady said “oh my soul, Dr. Merritt!” I had not seen Kimberly in over 25 years! I led her to Christ and baptized her as a 16-year-old girl. The joy of ministry!
