A proud moment for every Indian 🇮🇳 The return of three invaluable antiquities—a 9th-century Shiva Nataraja bronze, a 12th-century sculpture of Shiva and Uma, and a 16th-century depiction of Saint Sundarar with Paravai—from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art, USA, marks a significant step in restoring India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. These artefacts, once removed from temples in Tamil Nadu decades ago, are not merely objects of art but embodiments of our civilizational memory and living traditions. Their return reflects a growing global sensitivity towards rightful cultural ownership and ethical stewardship. This milestone underscores the Government of India’s sustained commitment to reclaiming and preserving our heritage under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. Such efforts strengthen our collective responsibility to safeguard and celebrate India’s ज्ञान परंपरा for future generations.
