Last week, MLRI Housing Attorney Annette Duke spoke to the Joint Committee on Housing about the importance of legal representation in eviction cases.
⚖️11% of tenants in MA are represented by a lawyer in housing court, compared to 86% of landlords. "It's an extreme imbalance."

RATIFIED! By a unanimous vote, the GBLS AU has ratified a new contract after over a year and a half of bargaining. Just a few things we got:
✅ Retroactive $10k+ raises for all our members
✅ Maintained healthcare benefits at no additional cost to members

🚨We have a tentative deal!🚨After a marathon, 6 hour bargaining session, both unions signed off on tentative terms with management last night. It is not over yet: contract language needs to be finalized, and needs to go to the unions for a ratification vote.
