It's not about what's fine or not, just facts about the output from said closed, divested or butchered studios. Studios PlayStation axed. Manchester Studio - Founded (not acquired) in 2015. Never released a game. Their live service title was scrapped. Dark Outlaw Games - Founded (not acquired) in 2025. Never released a game. Their live service title was scrapped. Firewalk Studios - Made Concord. Enough said lol. Neon Koi - Acquired in 2022. Never released a game. Their live service title was scrapped. Pixel Opus - Tiny studio of just 15 people. No release since 2019 and game cancelled. Japan Studio - Was restructured and absorbed into Asobi, XDEV etc. London Studio - Predominantly known for Singstar (no longer on going) and VR titles, and unfortunately for them VR did not kick off. Bluepoint Games - Hadn't released a game since 2020, and their live service game was scrapped. Terrible decision to close them and poor management to put them on live service to begin with. And despite all the above, PlayStations overall headcount is still very close to what it was last year and the year before, and over 2k more than it was in 2022, because they've still been hiring loads too. Xbox's in comparison is over 9,000 less than it was in 2024. Xbox also axed, divested or gutted studios that made games like Doom The Dark Ages, Hi-Fi Rush, Deathloop, Hellblade etc. So again, not remotely comparable to PlayStation's.

@K__Med Both. Xbox would have died without his decisions to refocus on gaming, but everything following that did such lasting damage to the brand that it’s a shell of its former self during the 360 days under strong leadership from Pete Moore.

Xbox fans continue being the densest and most lacking in accountability in gaming. Compare the studios and the output of the studios PlayStation shutdown, vs those Xbox shutdown, gutted or divested. Most of Playstation's hadn't even released a single game, while several of Xbox's had previously released good to great games. Only Bluepoint compares on the Sony side in recent years.
