@cubsfanwhit Sorry to hear. We had COVID go through the house Oct 2020 (prior to vaccines being available). The exhaustion takes a while to improve (4-6 weeks for me).

5: Still sleeping this morning. Less coughing heard. Presents are wrapped but that took all energy I had for the day. I’m going back to bed.

I updated too soon. 😟 Husband is exhausted after sleeping all night and easily short of breath with exertion. Me: Suddenly feel like crud, SOB on stairs, and exhausted. No temp. 13: Still normal 13. 7: Woke up w/ HA, cough, and fever of 102.3. Back to sleeping.

Update: Husband’s lungs burn from time to time but no shortness of breath. He went outside and fixed a downed Christmas decoration (small) for less than 5 mins and was exhausted. But overall more energy, less aching. Me: Stomach ache, but most likely from the chili.

@SecVilsack @crabb_vicki Thank you for your story. As someone who advocates for #Sepsis prevention, the #fluvaccine is one of the preventative measures we can do to prevent Sepsis. I’m sorry for your loss. I have seen countless patients die of influenza, and getting your flu shot is the best prevention.

As you consider whether to get the COVID vaccine or not, I want to share a story that may help you with your decision. I used to be hesitant about getting a flu shot. Then my sister died from the flu.

It’s unsurprising and incredibly sad to see how leadership within these religious groups have chosen to either oppose (or at a minimum remain silent) against misinformation which is harmful for their parishioners.

My experience is that many religious groups have engrained in their followers the “ability” to pick and choose what is science based on their “interpretation” of the Bible or the preaching/teaching of their leaders/pastors.

Part of #vaccinehesitancy is rooted in enduring belief in #ConspiracyTheories. 1/3 of the US believes vaccine harms are deliberately hidden from the public. #COVID19 is beatable, but the stubborn conviction of false belief is a tougher challenge. yougov.co.uk/topics/interna…

@SaskiaPopescu Autocorrect is both my lifesaver (I can’t spell to save my life) and also the bane of my existence (constantly changing word it shouldn’t). 😂

To anyone named Enola who I have emailed/texted: I’m sorry that the autocorrect on my phone/laptop changes your name to Ebola….

How can we overcome these behaviors/beliefs? Living within society, there needs to be societal norms, else we descend into anarchy. How can we cross these barriers and bring together individuals who are willing to choose misinformation and fallacies over facts?

This is prevalent in many of the evangelical Christian churches I have attended over the last 40 years and is consistently demonstrated by hundreds of my peers based on the content they endorse and share on social media and their actions in person.

This is incredibly sad and difficult to process how we can have people willing to forgo a simple preventive tool for COVID and still choose not to protect ourselves and our families.

Sobering data out today showing that more than 140,000 children have been orphaned or lost a caregiver due to Covid19. Please get vaccinated. Please vaccinate your children. Please use other mitigation strategies, else we risk a different type of pandemic.

@SherriDouville Almost certainly the easiest/simplest explanation and solution is a poor fit to the problem. Doesn't mean that we shouldn't evaluate it, but that we need to be willing to invest more time and effort to ensure that the solution is a good fit for the problem

@dereknoll14 @TheBlondeRN Most programs attempt to give the nurse a broader perspective on the healthcare system, and how they play a role in that system. I know a few programs which were poorly done, and didn’t meet those objectives.

@dereknoll14 @TheBlondeRN To be honest, that sounds like a reflection of the RN-BSN program. I have worked in many states, with hundreds of nurses, and the vast majority believed that their BSN gave them a wider vision of healthcare.
