@SaffronOlive Free legendary creature can be really good when you consider cards like mox amber

How good do you think this card is? I'm torn. On one hand, it's free. On the other, it's a 1/1...

@WesternSentinel @SaffronOlive Stock up is a fancy divination, but still only gives you the same number of cards as divination.

@SaffronOlive it’s not even about Izzet, it’s about blue. Before stock up the available card draw was kinda bad. Since then blue has become the best it’s been in years. I’ve been working on a Mardu deck that is really good but simply can’t compete with the card advantage without running blue.

It's wild that Vivi, Cori-Steel Cutter, Profts and Monstrous Rage are all banned because of Izzet and the color combination is still at the top of the meta. Imagine if all the cards that were supposed to be legal together were legal...

@gcsmith12 The second Purge over High Noon is my next change; it helps deal with one of the few ways you can lose to Boros, Blood Moon.

@SaffronOlive To be fair, a lot of walkers suck in standard right now. The last 12 months or so has been the least walkery time since I started magic since 2012. Like even modern, there's 2 big played walkers? and one starts as a creature.

I was thinking about how Standard seems fairly light on planeswalker removal, and then I realized it was because of Universes Beyond sets. Since UB doesn't have planeswalkers, UB removal spells don't include planeswalkers, so only 50% of sets get planeswalker removal now. (I checked Scryfall, and there are currently zero cards in Standard UB sets with the word "planeswalker" in their rules text).

@TSPJendrek That’s fair, ive been testing Jeskai control builds, but not been able to test the bird that I want to try out. I’ve had mixed success. Mostly losing the Jeskai blink matchup due to flooding/running out of fuel

@TSPJendrek have you settled on a list for Antwerp? I’m struggling to find a control list I like.
