@NW_Horadam Are any of these grants earmarked for Georgia? Have you heard anything about progress on the Anovion facility in Bainbridge?

Economic activity via the office sector has fallen a lot—that said, more to go as completions catch up to imploded office starts In Q1 2024, there were 7.8 million square feet of new office space delivered—the lowest volume of completions in the past several years JLL says that’ll keep falling (only 300k sq ft office starts this past quarter)

@NewsLambert You've probably been asked this a million times - but, what is it going to take to get that spread to shrink significantly?

The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate slips to 7.36%. That's the lowest reading since Sept. 20th. Spread: 288 bps

@ronlee1975 Good to hear that the hot weather hasn't put too much of a dent in the irrigated crop. Good luck as we white knuckle it through the next ~50 days.

@gds923 Still Good to Excellent in most of my area. Dryland has probably reached its max potential with this 10-14 day stretch of hot, dry weather. Now to dodge storms that have names.

@gds923 Short answer to this is Yes. Different guarantee levels for irrigated and dryland by county and different levels of protection can be bought. Grow has to pay for premium and can’t participate in PLC/ARC.

[@opinion] The decline in housing inventory that’s now occurring suggests that no deals are coming for buyers, who must now weigh two different scenarios, both of which are risky: bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…

@NW_Horadam @RyanForSmyrna Monthly payment levels in June 2022 might not be higher than they otherwise would have been, you’re just paying it in mortgage interest rather than a higher purchase price. But the interest portion could be lower in the future if you can refi at lower rates. Better for buyers.

Thinking about how there are a tremendous number of homeowners with tons of equity who might want to move in 2-5 years who are “trapped” by mortgage rates for now, but if mortgage rates ever fell to say 3.5% again the decision-making would change.

Yesterday when I brought the boys home from school, 9 yo said he couldn't wait to get home and write more of the story he's in the middle of. I love that feeling of being eager to work on something, and I'm so glad he feels it too.

@dmarcec @MelinAnders A fair number of these major CEOs are billionaires. Even Saban (at what, $9m per year?) is unlikely to get there.

@MelinAnders This is the exec comp story I always wanted to write - comparing “top paid state employees” (i.e. football coaches) to the highest paid CEOs in that state

@Hebbard @WSLSpodcast Wasn't it 2000? I feel like I lived in Hill Hall for this game. Eli Manning was the starter or Sub1 for Ole Miss?

The Southern Wave may have peaked. Good news! But remember, if true, this just means the *daily rate* of new infections has peaked. That means huge numbers of people are still getting infected every day, and will be for a long time.
Youyang Gu@youyanggu

I've made a major update to covid19-projections.com that tries to better account for the increase in cases and the resulting lag in reported deaths. I believe new infections have likely peaked, and deaths will likely peak within the next 1-3 weeks.
