@bmfshow I've been working on VMX. Its a VR BMX game with gestural controls for turning/doing tricks and a kingspray like paint system for player bikes/scooters. Its releasing on PCVR soon, but we got a standalone version coming too

@gingasvr I don't soley blame the quest as a device. If you look at the games that succeed on the quest you see a trend. You see less Bone Labs/Half Life: Alyx and more social multiplayer games. Its chasing the roblox audience, but also limmits design choice due to multiplayer overhead.

I’ve said this hundreds of times. VR has a reputation problem, that’s why it’s in the place it is now. You can’t expect people to take it seriously when majority of content is freemium low poly gorilla tag clones with screaming kids PCVR is how it’s stops being a gimmick🤷‍♀️ #vr

I wonder if anyone has built a tool to track the lineage of news stories. See who put out information first, see who copied from who, see how editoralizing or new facts changed it. You could always find the root reporting, and know which authors plagerize or distort.

Working on some more streaming tools. Started on a snap chat clone in unreal. Face tracking is mostly there. Lens studio is frustrating to use and the lenses are sandboxed, so I wanted to move things closer to my pipeline so I can do more interactive stuff #snapchat #streaming

@MjTheHunter An example of something you can't do is make your own subsystem, but you can make a lib to expose a subsystem. Subsystems can be completely avoided. My game runs at like 400~ fps flatscreen so speed is barely a limiting factor. Im targeting last gen mobile vr hardware

@MjTheHunter I'm making a physics based multiplayer VR game in Unreal using 99% blueprint. I mostly do it for iteration time Its very possible, it just depends on the features. some things aren't exposed. You can avoid these sometimes, but my 1% is either that or mission critical speed tasks

Curious about visual coding, blueprints in unreal and whatever else there is. Is is really feasible to make games with 0 coding whatsoever? I keep hearing this on YouTube, but when I think of complex systems, it feels like it shouldn't be possible?

modified the engine to tell me the assets that are breaking at runtime. Turns out I included a plugin which used a non-power of 2 image which can't be set to streaming. Streaming assets cannot be cooked, which means they cannot be loaded on the Quest.

My sister wanted to play Split Fiction because she likes It Takes Two. She didnt know about Laser Hell. I've had more fun trying to master this with her than the rest of the game. I apologize to every lobby I've ever held back hahaha

@beaversteever Years ago I went through 9 interviews at Epic Games, 7 code projects, across different teams. They were going through a reorg so the "role has changed" each time. The 8th one I said I wasn't interested anymore. Amazon gave me a way more reasonable set of interviews.
