The weirdest thing about writing is that there’s a period where the more you improve the more you’re sure that you’re a bad writer. Like, the more I learn the less delusional I am about the quality of my writing— I think I’m objectively better than I was a few years ago but

@nightphanges I’m laughing because I feel you. Two days ago I was writing at the office in the middle of the night and forgot to take my keycard into the stairwell— you can’t get back into the office or out of the building without it. I was like ‘I can’t call the police they’ll laugh at me’

Freaking out for WAY TOO LONG over the door. All the characters spend too much time freaking out over the door. It’s the same plot beat three times. Repetition without meaning making, and focusing way too much on the least important aspect of the backrooms (the fuckin door)

I saw the backrooms last night, here are my thoughts: Chiwetel? Excellent as always. Renate? My countryman, my queen, wonderful and perfect, though I could hear her østlandsk lilt which was funny in a character named Mary Kline Aesthetics? Creepy, icky (complimentary)+

Kane parsons clearly has talent, and I’m sure he’s gonna go on to make awesome movies. I have affection for this one and the creepy unsettling vibes were incredibly well executed (even the way the sky and the offices are shot before the backrooms come into play made me feel+
