Even if we fail at creating a Mars colony that can grow without continuous support from Earth, the absurdly ambitious nature of the goal nonetheless results in the creation of alien-level technology that is crushingly better than competitors who merely aim for Earth orbit.

There is value in an audacious mission. Even when the end-goal is not directly capitalizable. The tech required to master Mars is so badass that upon development it turns out to be remarkably valuable on Earth, not least because no other team has the determination to follow that hardest path. I suspect that the option value of a Mars colony, fully considered, could be capitalized over an appropriate timescale. But the tech required to just barely make Mars viable is so massively performant on Earth, that it opens up all sorts of terrestrial option value that we otherwise might never have explored.

Puerto Rico’s primary elections just experienced hundreds of voting irregularities related to electronic voting machines, according to the Associated Press. Luckily, there was a paper trail so the problem was identified and vote tallies corrected. What happens in jurisdictions where there is no paper trail? US citizens need to know that every one of their votes were counted, and that their elections cannot be hacked. We need to return to paper ballots to avoid electronic interference with elections. They didn’t report it, because that doesn’t constitute an arrestable crime in California.

I happened to listen to one of the Telugu X spaces where a couple of girls bitching about another girl. It was full of cuss words and doesn’t have anything else. That went on for hours. Pure character assassination. And it had concurrent listeners like 4K at one point of time.
I guess a lot of guys are enjoying the boothulu uttered by those girls. Nothing else! These people are justifying the platform name X.
Same goes with the guys who use boothulu while fighting with other guys on X.

I’m getting barraged with bullshit DC rumors this morning. I’ll just reiterate the general rule not to believe anything unless it comes from me or Peter. But, unless it’s especially egregious, I’m going to slow down on calling shit out. (Sorry, I know, it’s one of my favorite traditions). There are three reasons for this: 1) Some people are making up lies to get attention from me or to get clicks & I don’t want to encourage that. 2) I’ve read a hundred rumors this morning.
