Any other rapper would have been called washed years ago. Drake turned quantity into a substitute for quality and convinced an entire generation that playlist filler is artistic growth. If another rapper released the same repetitive songs about exes, enemies and fake friends, they would be laughed off the internet. Commercial success has insulated Drake from the criticism that every other artist would face. His music is the definition of stagnation
