Hate will never win. My statement on events in central London today:

Here's another for you @SuellaBraverman. 18 year old boy from Enfield. His Mum dies and he has no family. He ends up homeless living in a shed. He gets my contact details and I help him. I put him in the Travelodge on the A10 for 2 weeks until I can find him a room in a housing association. I knew the staff so this was possible. He was scared, cold, wet, and starving when I picked him up. He cried for hours. Anyhow we looked after him and now he's doing a degree in engineering. It was not a lifestyle choice for him. And I'm sure he'd be more than happy to educate you on this.

You can improve mental health services, fund social services better, build more affordable housing, and legislate to guarantee renters' rights. Or you could be a real shit and ban tents for the homeless.

Marching and calling for a ceasefire and peace so that more innocent children don’t get killed is not really the definition of a hate march.

I can’t imagine the pain, fear, and anger felt by the trans community watching the prime minister’s horrible little speech today. We as allies to the trans community need to raise our voices and create/maintain the safe spaces for our siblings. #TransRightsAreHumanRights 🏳️‍⚧️❤️

Can’t believe it is my last day at BWC 😭 I have loved my time here and have met so many amazing people. It has been a privilege working with this fab HR team and with Surgery Division, I will miss you all x
