Why are these random eggs trending? Here's everything I know about them. Eggs are an open edition mint by @CryptoKitties . This mint was open for a period of 24 hours where you could mint 1 per wallet @ 0.008 eth per mint. A total of 3134 NFTs were minted during that time. These NFTs are in three tiers; Common (2358 items), Uncommon (605 items) and rare (98 Items). Another thing I noted is that each of these egg tiers have their own description under them which a fun easter egg to come across. Floor is currently 0.064 with about 5.4 percent listed. CryptoKitties & Dapper Labs CryptoKitties is an OG project from November 2017, what now is 2 million items collection, used to be much smaller initially. This game allowed you to breed your own kittens, the breeding process was fairly complex where you needed to breed the right Kitties to get a desirable breed. This collection did extremely well and sits with 9,928 ETH volume on Opensea. This collection is backed by @dapperlabs , What is Dapper labs? The same team that brought you CryptoKitties in 2017 and NBA Top shot in 2021. The team is extremely well connected and both of those collections did extremely well during their peak. What are these Eggs? Officially the team has revealed very little, there has been some hints here or there but the following is what I found mostly through going through the relevant social accounts and trying to piece the information together. Please note that the following is my findings and also includes my own opinions, the team has officially confirmed NOTHING right now. See the tweet below from @Alanfalcon dated 1st January. Followed by this tweet just two days ago So why Launch a new collection. I personally think this has something to do with the EVM update for @flow_blockchain network next week which will allow Ethereum contracts to be integrated. This means that the pain point of the initial collection which was transaction costs while breeding can be possible eliminated using Flow chain. Flow is a gas free network allowing these transactions to be cost free and encouraging more activity. The team has not yet confirmed that this is the intention but I am just basing this on the information found above plus the upcoming update from Flow.
