𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 When myself or any other scout, watches a 3B/SS/2B, we have to prepare that you “may not” get a ground ball in the game. So what do we look for if that becomes the case? Take your GB work from the 1B between inns seriously with a plan! We are looking for the following: Consistent accurate throws ALL the time. Footwork, body syncing, actions/movement patterns, or how your body works? Your hands and how your feet and glove work. Grading your arm strength and most importantly, how serious you take this “small” task, which is not small, but vastly important! Do you have a routine and are you consistent in that routine?! 1) As an IN’er take your in-between innings GB’s from the 1B seriously! 2) Are you consistent in your throws w/accuracy back to the 1B’man? 3) All INF’ers should take a routine GB straight up at your pos, then take a GB to your forehand, then backhand. You usually get 2-3 GB’s before the pitcher is ready to go. Mix them up throughout the game, working them in throughout the 7-9 inning game. 4) 3B take a GB from the back corner of the INF/OF grass to show off your arm strength, which also keeps your arm stretched out for the long throw and continues to build and develop arm strength. 5) SS take a GB(s) from the deep 6 hole as well, with the same thinking as the 3B. 6) 2B take your routine GB from deep behind the 2B bag and then as well from straight up SS. 7) 2B/SS - Together work in some turns and feeds around the bag. Be accurate. 8) Work on throwing from multiple arm angles, depending on the type of GB you’re receiving 9) One of the INF’ers has to be proactive in making sure all the INF’ers keep their gloves/hats together as a unit, so as to be able to know where your glove/hat is to bring to you, if you are the last out of an inning or are left on base. We don’t want to see INF’ers being delayed in bringing your glove/hat to you by having to yell “where’s your bag?!” 10) Last box to check off for a 2B’man is can you play SS? If you don’t profile as an everyday player at the next level, but fall into the UTL category, a 2B must be able to play SS for a time or stretch, in case of an injury. You won’t be able to be a UTL player in playing 3B/SS as a 2B, if you can’t play SS. Arm strength, consistency in your work, preparation and having a plan are all being evaluated. You never know who’s watching and what we are watching? Everything you do on the field is being evaluated. @prepbaseball

I spoke to a booster at a P5 school, who was a former player at the school and now very wealthy. He said they had a meeting with the baseball coach, and the baseball coach told them (the boosters) he needed 2.1 million in NIL money to put a competitive team on the field. The majority of that money is simply making up for the 11.7 partial scholarships players receive. In essence, it's closing and/or eliminating the financial gap and allowing players to be on 100% scholarships. It is time for D-1 baseball to be allowed to offer 24 full scholarships. Let's call 11.7 what it is...DISCRIMINATION. Go watch a minor league game on a Friday night and a P5 game on Saturday and tell me what you see in terms of racial and ethnic differences. Professional baseball is the most diverse sport in the world...P5 baseball is 95% white kids from families with money. Thats just a FACT. P5 football and basketball are mirror images of the NFL and NBA when it comes to race and ethnicity.

If half my team took batting practice for an hour and the other half visualize hitting missiles off the starting pitcher for 4 minutes and asked me who I thinks gonna have a better game-I’ll take the guys that never took a bad swing-the mind doesn’t know the bodies not doing it🙌

12 Things I Would Tell Myself as a Young Player: 1. The work you put in away from your team is where real growth happens. Take your personal development into our own hands. Stop waiting for others to help you. 2. The game will be hard on your body. Take care of it. 3. Accountability will be one of your biggest weaknesses. Get better at it ASAP! 4. Everyday you play catch you are a pitcher. Even if you’re not slated to pitch that day, while you play catch, be a pitcher. Work on your throwing mechanics, throw your off speed pitches and hit spots on your partner. 5. THROW YOUR CHANGE UP!! Start learning it from day one. Experiment with different grips. Keep it out of your palm. Play catch with it EVERYDAY you throw the ball. It will be a very important pitch you need later. Develop it and your confidence in it early on so you don’t need to later. 6. GET STRONGER!! 7. Be a student of the game. When you watch the game on TV, watch it more like a student than a fan. Watch how they move their bodies. How they move around the field. Read up on mental toughness. Seek out those with more experience and ask questions. 8. You’re a pitcher. Just because you threw a pitch, your job is not over. The only time you should find yourself still standing on the mound after a hit ball is if there is no one on base and a GB is hit to your 3B or SS. Any other time you are either moving towards 1B to cover if needed or backing up a base somewhere. Stop spectating! 9. Your headspace will separate you from your competitors. Please start learning this at a younger age! Mental toughness, baseball IQ, competitiveness and emotional control need to be a constant focus. 10. You will have some great coaches in your life and some who have no business being in that position. But you can learn something from all of them, even if that means learning how you DON’T want to be as a coach someday. 11. Playing with and through discomfort is part of it. You shouldn’t have to feel 💯 to give 💯. You better develop some toughness in that area if you want to last. 12. Enjoy the Game!! Someday you will play in your final game. Be grateful for what the game gave you. Respect the game. Remember as much as you can. Enjoy your teammates and when you’re ready, give back as much as you can.

1 player is a ‘27 Grad and brand new to our program and in 6 weeks dad already caused numerous issues with 3 different coaches so we had to cut the player and family.

Today we lost another member of our family. Slush’s brother in law, Donna’s brother Raymond Monroe has passed away. Raymond was one of the very good ones. An extremely hard worker who would do anything for anyone. Raymond leaves a giant hole and he will definitely be missed
