The tattoo is a bigger problem than people realize, on an electoral level. It's the first thing major news networks are running with, now that this is a national race. People are under the impression Democrats are running a Nazi in Maine.

@generallysucks @EdwardVersaii Yes his name was Mark Downie, was at the first Bull Run and was injured and made Captain. He was in Company B and was shot 3 times and survived. He moved tonFlorida and married but never had children. Sadly he never completely recovered from his injuries and died at 43 in 1879

@generallysucks @EdwardVersaii As a civil war nerd I love that your profile pic is of Grant. I had a 3 times great uncle who served in the First Minnesota

@Mel_Ankoly I preferred Lamb over Fetterman just like I preferred Mills to Platner. But once Fetterman won his primary, the correct choice was for the party to campaign for him and for Democrats to vote for him. We would want them to support our candidate if they had won.

People are confusing being progressive with being an outsider. He appealed to antiestablishment types because he was new and young and running against well-known names, but outside of healthcare he didn’t run on progressive policy positions.

I do think the idea that Obama ran as a centrist in 2008 overstates things. He wasn't a wild-eyed radical, but the whole premise of his campaign, particularly the primary was we needed to go beyond Clintonian centrist triangulation.

@MotorCitySam313 @Mel_Ankoly I agree that he was the least qualified. However, regardless of that fact he is the candidate. As we have seen in the last decade, being qualified is not usually all it takes to convince people to vote for you.

@Mel_Ankoly Do you think it would be better if he won the election or if Susan Collins wins the election?

@Mel_Ankoly Why would it taint the party to campaign against Trump and his chosen senate candidate?

So don’t let the winter deter you too much if you’re thinking about making the move!

Not to minimize anyone who loathes the dark and cold months, but I was genuinely surprised at how doable winter is here. I thought I’d have to spend a lot of time fussing with parkas and thermals and such to go outside but a hoodie + normal jacket was good enough most days.
Andrew Gebo@Gebo___

The biggest objection to moving to Minneapolis is the winter. People are terrified of living somewhere cold. If we had mild winters, we would be Los Angeles with lakes.

@BlueStateBlues3 @magi_jay I don’t think he’s a Nazi. However I just think people should be clear about their position here. I think people should vote for Platner because I don’t think he’s a Nazi. Are you arguing that people should go out and vote for Susan Collins?
