On the Feast of the Annunciation, we remember God’s grace poured into human life through Mary’s faithful “yes.” May we, like her, receive God’s call with trust and courage, even when the cost is not yet known.

When hope feels thin and faith is weary, God’s breath gives life again. May the Spirit renew us and draw us toward the promise of resurrection.

As Ramadan ends, we extend greetings to our Muslim neighbours celebrating Eid. May this time of feasting and generosity be a blessing to many. Eid Mubarak!

The Presentation of the Lord, also called Candlemas, honours a moment early in Luke’s gospel when Mary and Joseph bring the Christ-child to Jerusalem to dedicate him to God’s service. Together we lift up our hearts to the Light of the world.

Today we commemorate both the Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany in the Book of Alternative Services and Septuagesima Sunday in the Book of Common Prayer. Septuagesima begins a pre-Lenten season of penitence sometimes called Gesimatide, and also marks seventy days until Easter.

As the United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week begins this Sunday, we join with all people of faith, devotion and goodwill in lifting up values of dialogue, respect and peace that guide us throughout the year.
