@KetanJ0 Sorry, I was being flippant. Although, the reporting on Bitcoin energy usage is often very poor. At the same time, it would be wrong not to acknowledge the high energy consumption from mining. This becomes less of a problem if we acceleration our transition to renewables.

Probably not all that long before Bitcoin's energy consumption surpasses the earlier high this year. Mining has moved from emissions-intensive China to other high-emissions grids like the US, Kazakhstan. ccaf.io/cbeci/mining_m…

I have extended family who are antivax and don't think covid is a Big Deal. I only know this thru social media and I've not had the energy to call them out on it. But now they are DMing me their anti-science propaganda. What do I do?! Anyone have tips for dealing with this?

Hey #Greenland and #GIS #map folks - I need a high-res geotiff of Kangerlussuaq to use in building a 360-degree tour. Any leads for this? #QGreenland doesn't have higher than 10-m resolution, but it would be best to show buildings. Not permitted for Google Maps. Help!

@jiaminjxu I was 37 when I did my PhD. People do things when it’s right for them. My biggest complaint at the moment is when people use the term ‘young scientists‘ instead of “early career”. One day, I’m going to flip a table Hulk style whilst shouting “Geoff Smash”.

@TrailerDrake If you mean 3D animation, kinda but I love 2D. If you mean 3D glasses, no way, it often looks weird and gives me a headache a lot of the time when it's done well.

@PALSEAgroup @AnnaGlueder It's great. Everybody just keeps doing their best in a bad situation. Plus side is, I can see lots of things we'll end up taking from this to make conferences more accessible and even better in the future. Trying to keep that positive outlook!
